This one’s personal, a 20-year-old dream finally brought to life.

For years, I followed every script handed to me: be graceful, be an excellent professional, be independent, prepare to become a wife, a mother, a good cook, keep your home, your mind, your body, your nails, your hair, polished and perfect, and choose the best man for you. I added “painter” and “entrepreneur” to the list out of sheer ambition, stubbornness and obsession. But somewhere along the way, I’d muted the sound of the open road and forgotten how leather felt against my skin. 

I’d always wanted a bike in my life, and the idea of having to choose a partner based on whether he had one felt wrong on so many levels. Why depend on a man to tick all those boxes for me, when I’d already learned how to offer them to myself?

When I finally let go of everyone else’s expectations, the fire reignited, and the bike returned to center stage. Just me and the road, wherever I may roam. Biker blood in my veins, leather heart too, it’s been through enough to be considered vintage, complete with its own exhaust pipes. 😂

I painted this while taking bike lessons, pouring everything I had into manifesting that freedom. It took two months to complete, and the day after I finished it, my dream bike found me. Two days later, I’d paid the deposit. All it had taken was to let go and trust the process...

Coincidence? Maybe.
But I know energy doesn’t lie, and this painting carries mine.
It’s my proof of metamorphosis, rebellion, and acceptance, that I can be all of it at once: three espressos in one person. Unapologetically.
