A piece born from surrender to life, to timing, to the divine mischief of destiny.

It began long ago with a pilgrimage through the Louvre, chasing Hubert Robert’s Caprices, his dreamlike re-visions of ruins reinhabited by the living. I walked seven kilometers through the museum just to see his paintings, feet aching, heart alight, searching for proof that beauty can rise again from what once fell apart. Was not disappointed! 

Exactly 2 years later to the date, inspiration finally struck, and that’s what this painting became for me: a personal caprice, my own reimagining of freedom, transformation and faith.

After letting go of a decade-long love, I finally stopped trying to steer the universe, and a Djinn appeared on my path.

A spirit of awakening who answered wishes I didn't know I had, arriving by moonlight (fittingly, since his name literally means Moonlight). He emerged from the Darbuka’s rhythm like a heartbeat of the divine, carrying the scent of courage, discipline, sweetness, and chaos in equal measure.

The Black Dervish details mark my surrender to the divine, the one where you release control and let life show you just how good it can get. He gazes toward the Virgo constellation, my sign, and the season he arrived in, a celestial nod that I was exactly where I needed to be.

This piece hums with the energy of unexpected blessings: the muse who ignites, the lesson that heals, the magic that finds you when you stop chasing. 
A rebirth in rhythm and moonlight, a gift from the divine with my name on it.
